Do you install lightning protection?
Yes. Nelson Roof Contracting is a reliable contractor for UL-approved lightning protection systems for commercial buildings, coordinated with roof work so the membrane stays watertight.
What is single-ply roofing?
Single-ply roofing is a flexible sheet membrane — usually TPO, PVC or EPDM — installed in one layer over insulation on low-slope and flat commercial roofs. Seams are heat-welded (TPO, PVC) or taped/adhered (EPDM).
TPO vs PVC vs EPDM — which is best for my building?
It depends on use and budget. TPO is an economical, reflective heat-welded option for most commercial roofs. PVC adds grease and chemical resistance for restaurants and industrial buildings. EPDM is a proven rubber membrane often used to replace existing rubber roofs. We can explain the options for your specific building.
Do you do repairs or only full replacements?
Both. We repair leaks, seams, flashings, hail and wind damage, and we also do full tear-offs, recovers and new installations.
Can my existing roof be coated instead of replaced?
Sometimes. If the roof and insulation are mostly dry and sound, a silicone or metal roof coating can extend its life. If insulation is saturated, re-roofing is usually the better investment.
